Jehoon Park, Incheon National University, South Korea
It has been a good experience for me to work with the Society and to have a SSEM session for Asian Economic Community Forum. It will become a much better cooperation if the session subject is more focusing on the Asian economic integration and the participants become more diversified.
Sergio Schmukler, World Bank, USA
It has been a real pleasure working with SSEM over the years and organizing sessions for the ASSA Annual Meetings. We have covered an array of financial sector topics at the frontier of knowledge, attracting great speakers and a good audience interested in emerging markets. We look forward to continuing the collaboration over the years to come.
Fiza Qureshi, University of Sindh, Pakistan
It was an incredibly important conference organized by the joint cooperation of Society for the Study of Emerging Markets (SSEM) and the Asian Economic Community Forum (AECF) where many eminent and learned scholars from various countries across the globe participated. It was an extraordinary experience of learning where I got familiar with the variety of latest quality topics from all participants. Moreover, this conference provided me an international platform to share my research with the learned research community. I received valuable feedback from renowned editors on my research work. I look forward to participating in a similar opportunity in the future.
HaiYue Liu, Business School, Sichuan University, China
It was a great honor to work with SSEM to host a workshop in the Business School of Sichuan University. Partnering with SSEM boosted attendance at our conference and contributed to the good quality of papers presented. Professor Kutan’s workshop on “How to Publish in Top Journals” was very popular with the attendees. The PhDs and master’s students in our school and School of Economics all benefited from Professor Kutan’s speech. I hope that we can cooperate more with SSEM in the near future!
Silvana Stefani, University of Milano Bicocca, Italy
As the organizer of the SSEM 2019 EuroConference held in Milano, University of Milano-Bicocca, I would like to thank the SSEM for the extraordinary opportunity given to us. The conference went very well, with a participation of many scholars from all over the world. The sessions, all interesting and animated by questions and discussion, were related to emerging worlds and markets, with a variety of topics. Scholars and Ph.Ds found very useful the workshop, given by Professor Kutan, on “How to publish in top economics and finance journals”. The aim of the conference of bringing together experiences and research was successfully reached. We look forward to working with SSEM again.
Xuan Zhang, Nanjing Audit University, China
In cooperation with SSEM, we successfully held a symposium on China’s economic and financial development. SSEM shared the call for papers with its large mailing list and members. Their partnership not only increased attendance at our conference but also contributed to the good quality of submissions. It was very efficient and easy to collaborate with SSEM. Professor Kutan’s workshop on “How to Publish in Top Economics and Finance Journals” was well attended and generated big interest especially among younger faculty and doctoral students. We really appreciate the help of SSEM and hope our cooperation continues.
Xi Chen, Yunnan University, China
Our colleagues and students learned a lot from Prof. Kutan ‘s workshop on “How to publish in top international journals”. The conference we held with SSEM attracted a lot of prestigious scholars and generated good influence.
Ujkan Bajra, University of Prishtina, Kosova
My conference attendance organized by SSEM I can honestly say, is the key pathway in creating my research profile. Sharing experience, meeting new people and establishing contacts, then opportunities to discuss different economic issues, econometric and statistical models are the added value that young researchers and senior researchers greatly benefit from the Society. I am convinced that the opportunity that the SSEM offers is incomparable. Not only in terms of sharing experience, meeting and establishing new contacts, but above all the motivation and experience gained by Society as a young researcher is the key to success for the future.
Jorge Guillen, ESAN Graduate School of Economics, Lima, Peru
Working with SSEM allowed us to improve the quality of the papers presented by our faculty. It was a pleasure to organize the conference with this society.

The society has attracted members from all over the world and has organized more than 50 conferences and symposia on all continents. Its sessions at AEA/ASSA have consistently featured top papers and researchers over the years. As a participant, I can say that these events have moved my research forward and have developed my understanding of economic phenomena and processes typical for emerging markets.

Professor Kutan’s workshop on “How to Publish in Top Journals” provides very useful insights and very helpful advice for early career researchers and more experienced academics alike. This is a highly recommended session.
